Live Updates: Hopes Dim for an Immediate Cease-Fire in Gaza

Following the death of Yahya Sinwar, a leader of Hamas, significant tensions persist in the region. Hamas issued its first official remarks since the incident, indicating the group's resolve to continue its conflict with Israel. Khalil al-Hayya stated that Sinwar's death wouldn't change their approach and that hostages in Gaza would remain unless Israel withdrew.

U.S. officials, including the Secretary of State, are intensifying efforts to negotiate a cease-fire, offering prisoner exchanges as a solution. Despite these diplomatic movements, hostilities in Gaza are unabated, with recent Israeli strikes in Jabaliya resulting in casualties and injuries. Early on the following Saturday, an Israeli artillery attack on the Indonesian Hospital disrupted its power supply, affecting many patients and staff.
